Aging in Place in Blacksburg
What is Aging in Place? Simply put, it means choosing to remain in the home and community of your choice with as much independence as possible. That said, approximately 70% of older adults will require help at some point, for an average of three years. Actively planning for some “what if” scenarios, will go a long way.
Below are some resources that can help, but we also want to hear from you! When you think about your later years, what do you most want? What are your concerns? What are your ideas for making Blacksburg a more aging-in-place friendly community?

They have developed an Aging in Place Website with the following suite of resources:
- A series of topic-specific aging in place videos. Topics include an introduction to aging in place, housing, health & wellness, transportation, personal finance, and connection & growth.
