Qualities we love that we'd like to see retained and added.

Hand in Hand offers something that many other playgrounds don't and that is ample shade! I am hopeful that the existing trees can be retained and landscaping can continue to be a meaningful component of the playground. One additional feature that I especially enjoyed when my children were young (but still like now) is there are no big gaps in railings where a child could easily fall through (as opposed to many plastic/metal playgrounds - even the blue green one just downhill).

Lastly, I love the flexibility of pretend play that can happen at the wooden playground - it does seem to inspire more creative play with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, a variety of scales and materials to traverse.

Some components we'd love to see added: zip line (possibly two, with one being accessible), rope climbing structure (examples included below but my daughter also referenced with one by the frog pond too - I think they prefer that one to Wong Park bc you can perch on the one at the Frog pong more easily), wobbly bridge, balance structures of some variety (the rope balance is a hit always), tire swing with access to area above (as is there now), fireman's pole, tower, spring riding vehicle (like at lower small child playground) and monkey bars.

Rubber surface sounds great - maybe some sections solid rubber for increased accessibility.

Included are pictures from two different playgrounds in St. Pete, FL that capture elements of strength, limited risk, creative play, and adventure that we love in a playground:
